Penile Prosthesis (Three-Piece Penile Implant)

Penile prosthesis implantation is a surgical method for treating erectile dysfunction in which the cavernous bodies of the penis are destroyed and replaced with an implant, or penis prosthesis. This method is used to address severe cases of erectile dysfunction when other treatment methods are ineffective. Natural processes such as urination and ejaculation, as well as the appearance and sensitivity of the penis, are preserved, except in cases where the prostate gland is removed.

Three-piece penile implants, known as hydraulic penile prostheses, are an advanced design that effectively mimics a natural erection and is practically imperceptible to the partner. These prostheses consist of three main components: a pair of cylinders, a pump, and a reservoir. The components are connected by flexible and durable tubes through which sterile physiological solution is pumped from the reservoir into the cylinders.
